Tutorial

A Tutorial for those new to MD.

Movement:
All movement in MD is direction based, you can go North, South, East, West, North-east, North-west, etc. there are shortcuts for movements, such as, n, s, e, w, etc.

Other movements include:
-Run
>a command that allows you to move extremely fast over a distance of 25 spaces (rooms)
e.g. run 2e3n3ne will make you move in those directions instantly.
-Climb
>need i explain more? you climb over something if there is something to climb over
-Jump
>you jump into a moat or something else

Exploring
The world of MD is huge, and more often then not, there are quests in each area, as well as hidden items. Quests are usually started by finding NPCs who give them, or by finding the object (letter/book that starts you off). Hidden items in rooms can be found by -looking- (the command is “look") to view a room and then -examining- ("exa <description>) and/or -searching- ("search <description>").

Other Exploration commands include:
-Press
-Pull
-Drag
-Hit
etc

Combat:
Combat in MD is initiated by either you or an NPC (depending on who attacked first), you can attack a NPC by typing “kill <name>”, while NPC’s might attack you if you invade their privacy/steal something of theirs or they might just not like you (depending on how high or low your charisma is).

Health in MD is limb based, which means if your head is destroyed, you’ll die even if all your other limbs is at full health. This can be a good or bad thing, depending on how it is used, always remember to keep your head and body at full health (by wearing armor or using healing items) and you wont die. Also if you use specific limb targeting skills(gained after classing), or limb targeting weapons, you can kill NPC’s faster by targeting limbs such as an NPCs head.

Healing:
healing in MD can be done in multiple ways, as a newbie (lvl 1-5) your character has an accelerated healing rate. However, this can be complimented by alcohol or bread (though at lower levels bread would help way more when healing). Alcohol however is the main way of healing in md. Also there are other items/objects/events/places that give spiritual or physical healing in the realms.

Money:
Money is especially important in MD because players lose all their unvaulted items at the end of each Boot but get to keep their money.  Silver is the currency of MD and it is used constantly to buy Alcohol, food, items, weapons, armor and services offered by various vendors.
Processing:
NPCs leave behind corpses when they die.  You can process a corpse for silver at any of the Corpse Processors you find in the cities of MD.

Selling:
NPCs often carry items.  Once you have killed them, you can loot their corpses for items and silver!

- Sometimes items are special and can be sold for extra silver at general stores or pawn shops.  These stores will only buy special items from players and players can buy the special items that other players have sold.

- Most items you will find are not special but can still be sold.  A player can sell these normal items to a Smelter who will buy the items based on weight and material type.

-Don’t be greedy! certain items may be useful to other players. (And they might pay more so… go ahead and be extra greedy.)
