ummm.. lets see.. the last i tried attacking a necro? which was necron, for fun.. (hey he asked me to try!) my turning (at lvl 14-15) did nothing to him or his undead really.. which was kinda freaky.. nor did my heal, but then again personally i think ledah’s turn is way weaker compared to shrouds >_<

yea.. but you can heal yourself.. and you have that super protection from evil stuff.. and necros are slightly evil.

arent you at work or something?? >_< lol

umm.. yeah.. iono i was only lvl 14 then too..
protection and all those prayers would help tons.. but with summons i think it could be kinda tough
not to mention if a necro ever manages to get a curse in the cleric is most probably dead smile

oh well.. lol dont talk about wars.. its bad and people might get ideas…

A friend of mine mentioned about checking out MD again after a long absence.  He has a necro (if he can remember the password) but was wondering if it still took ages to build up an undead and if you still had to play a full boot to get anywhere?

Also, is it true that there is no ‘store undead’ command (or whatever it was) and you have to store corpses in the vault?  That would kinda suck as he is very busy at work and might only be able to log on once a week or so.

I heard there were changes to necro class in the last year or so, but not sure as to what they were.

Or should I tell him to start a monk or mage?

yup, you have to store corpses in the vault, not sure about all the necro changes where tho..

but why monk or a mage?? thos are the worst classes at low levels! but i guess if you cant play long they are good at higher levels.. thief isnt bad ether.

The nice thing about the vault is that you can spend an hour getting corpses, then throw it in the vault and pull it out the next day and add a few more corpses to it.  You refresh the corpse and its re-storable.

If you can get a animal corpse you can make an undead beast (or several) or use a single decent humanoid corpse to make an acolyte.  The beast is like a disposable undead (no xp penalty for it dying) and the acolytes increase the power of spells.  On top of that, you can animate limbs and attach them to yourself.  So there are a variety of undead options available to suit the different playing styles.

But at lvl 19, and being the only necro on i can have a second dk up in about an hour and half.

Surely you could get a decent DK up in under an hour.
