A friend of mine mentioned about checking out MD again after a long absence. He has a necro (if he can remember the password) but was wondering if it still took ages to build up an undead and if you still had to play a full boot to get anywhere?
Also, is it true that there is no ‘store undead’ command (or whatever it was) and you have to store corpses in the vault? That would kinda suck as he is very busy at work and might only be able to log on once a week or so.
I heard there were changes to necro class in the last year or so, but not sure as to what they were.
Or should I tell him to start a monk or mage?
The nice thing about the vault is that you can spend an hour getting corpses, then throw it in the vault and pull it out the next day and add a few more corpses to it. You refresh the corpse and its re-storable.
If you can get a animal corpse you can make an undead beast (or several) or use a single decent humanoid corpse to make an acolyte. The beast is like a disposable undead (no xp penalty for it dying) and the acolytes increase the power of spells. On top of that, you can animate limbs and attach them to yourself. So there are a variety of undead options available to suit the different playing styles.
But at lvl 19, and being the only necro on i can have a second dk up in about an hour and half.
